Shocking Ad Cautions Parents Against Sharing Photos of Their Kids Online

Posted on May 13, 2025 By Emerson Solomon No Comments on Shocking Ad Cautions Parents Against Sharing Photos of Their Kids Online

Deutsche Telekom’s powerful #ShareWithCare campaign uses a deepfake video titled “A Message from Ella” to spotlight the dangers of “sharenting”—when parents post their children’s images online. The video features an AI-generated adult version of nine-year-old Ella confronting her parents, revealing how their online posts could be misused.

The campaign warns that photos shared online can lead to identity theft, deepfake misuse, or worse. By 2030, many youth identity fraud cases may stem from such oversharing. The ad urges parents to consider the long-term digital impact on their children.

To protect kids, parents should adjust privacy settings, avoid oversharing, and educate their children about online safety. The campaign highlights the growing risks tied to AI and emphasizes balancing connection with caution in the digital age.

Though unsettling, this campaign serves as a wake-up call for responsible digital parenting to ensure children’s safety and dignity online.
