Four married men decided to spend a Saturday fishing together. As they sat by the lake, waiting for a bite, they began comparing what they had promised their wives in exchange for the day off.
The first man laughed. “You wouldn’t believe what I had to do! I promised my wife I’d paint the entire house this weekend. That’s the only way she agreed to let me come.”
The second man shook his head. “That’s nothing! I promised my wife I’d build a brand-new pool deck. She’s been asking for it for years, and I finally had to agree!”
The third fisherman jumped into the conversation. “You two got off easy! I promised my wife I’d completely renovate the kitchen. New cabinets, new floors, everything! But I wasn’t going to miss this fishing trip.”
They continued fishing, laughing and sharing stories. Finally, they noticed that the fourth man hadn’t said a single word about what he’d promised his wife.
“Come on,” one of them said. “What did you have to do to escape for the weekend?”
The fourth man smiled mischievously. “Honestly, nothing complicated. I simply set my alarm for 5:30 this morning. When it rang, I turned it off, gently nudged my wife, and whispered, ‘Fishing or sex?’”
The other three men leaned forward eagerly. “And what did she say?”
He grinned even wider. “She looked at me sleepily and said, ‘Put on a sweater. It’s cold outside!’”
The entire group burst into uncontrollable laughter. Apparently, sometimes the easiest way to win an argument is to let your wife make the decision!
