Why Did Every Woman Suddenly Disappear From My Father’s Life?

Twelve years after my mother died, my father finally decided to find love again. He joined dating apps and met several women, but every relationship ended mysteriously. After six women disappeared without explanation, he began questioning himself.

Worried about him, I asked my best friend, Rachel, to go on a date with him. She agreed and later told me she had enjoyed their evening. However, the next morning, she stopped answering my calls and sent me a frightening message asking me to stay away.

When we finally met outside her office, Rachel revealed the truth. Someone had sent her anonymous threats, warning her never to see my father again. The messages included a photograph of them leaving the restaurant together.

I immediately told my father, and we decided to investigate. Reviewing security footage from his house, we spotted someone near his driveway wearing white sneakers with a dark stripe. The shoes reminded me of my aunt Sabrina, my mother’s younger sister.

Sabrina had supported us after my mother’s death, but she had recently become distant. When I confronted her with the footage, she looked nervous. Eventually, she confessed that she had been secretly monitoring my father’s dates and threatening the women he met.

She explained that she believed she was protecting my mother’s memory. She feared that my father finding another partner would mean forgetting his late wife. I told her that honoring someone who had died did not justify hurting people who were still alive.

Rachel reported the threats, and my father provided the security footage. Sabrina finally faced the consequences of her actions. Although the situation deeply hurt our family, we understood that grief could never excuse deliberately frightening others.

Months later, my father met a woman named Jocelyn, and their relationship gradually blossomed. One evening, I heard him laughing while music played softly in the background. His happiness reminded me that moving forward does not mean forgetting the past. My mother will always have a place in our hearts, but my father deserves love and happiness again, too.
