Trump Blasts Israel and Iran After Ceasefire Falters
Just hours after declaring a ceasefire between Israel and Iran, President Donald Trump erupted in a profanity-laced tirade, accusing both nations of violating the truce.
On the evening of June 23, Trump posted on Truth Social that a “Complete and Total CEASEFIRE” had been agreed upon, with Iran initiating the pause and Israel following 12 hours later. The 12-day war, he claimed, would officially end within 24 hours.
However, that optimism quickly unraveled. Media outlets in both countries reported renewed Israeli airstrikes, including a radar facility hit near Tehran. Iranian news confirmed explosions in the capital.
Trump lashed out, saying, “Avoid dropping those bombs,” and warned Israel it would be a “serious infraction” to continue attacks. He demanded, “Take your pilots home, now!”
Speaking to reporters on the White House lawn before departing for a NATO summit, Trump expressed deep frustration. “They don’t know what the f*** they’re doing,” he said. “Israel emerged and dropped a barrage of bombs… the largest load we have ever seen.”
The president criticized Israel for acting against the terms of the agreement. “When I tell them they have twelve hours, they don’t leave in the first hour and throw everything on them,” he said, also noting his dissatisfaction with Iran’s actions.
Trump ended with a warning: “I need to get Israel to calm down now.”
His remarks set the stage for a tense week in global diplomacy, as the fragile ceasefire appears to collapse amid growing Middle East instability.
