Thrown out like trash: Why Taho’s tragic journey ended in heartbreak

In 2023, a young pit bull named Taho was thrown from a stolen truck during a high-speed police chase in Arden Hills, Minnesota. Miraculously, he survived the impact and freezing night, found the next day curled on a snowbank—shivering but wagging his tail.

Rescued by deputies, Taho was treated for a broken leg and multiple injuries. Despite his trauma, he remained affectionate and hopeful, earning a spot in a foster program through Pet Haven.

But as time went on, Taho’s psychological scars emerged. He became unpredictable and aggressive, biting several caregivers despite expert handling and rehabilitation efforts. An MRI ruled out neurological issues, confirming his behavior was trauma-based.

Eventually, for the safety of everyone and Taho’s own peace, he was humanely euthanized.

Taho’s story is tragic yet powerful—a reminder of the cruelty some animals endure and the compassion of those who fight to save them. He died surrounded by love. RIP Taho 💔
