Terri Irwin makes heartbreaking admission 19 years after Steve’s d.e.ath

It’s been nearly 19 years since the world lost beloved conservationist Steve Irwin. Known for his deep love for animals and energetic personality, Steve introduced countless species to the public and inspired a new generation of wildlife advocates.

In 2006, while filming at the Great Barrier Reef, Steve tragically died after being pierced in the chest by a stingray. His final words, “I’m dying,” were shared by his close friend and cameraman, Justin Lyon.

Steve is survived by his wife, Terri, and their children, Bindi and Robert, who have continued his conservation work.

Terri and Steve met in 1991 and shared 14 years of marriage. In a 2025 interview, Terri said she remains single, still deeply connected to Steve: “I did find my happily ever after.”

Though once rumored to be dating Russell Crowe, Terri clarified they’re just close friends. Steve’s legacy lives on through his family and their unwavering dedication.
