A tragic school bus accident in Panola County claimed the life of 18-year-old Katelyn Ray. The accident occurred Wednesday morning when Katelyn’s car crashed into the back of a South Panola School bus on Highway 15 near Highway 6. Katelyn was on her way to pick up her older sister from work when the incident happened.

Her mother, Shelia Ray, shared the heartbreak of their last conversation, filled with love and family affection. When Katelyn failed to show up, her family grew increasingly worried, and her sister, Courtney Pettit, posted on social media seeking information. Hours later, the Mississippi Highway Patrol delivered the devastating news that Katelyn had been in a serious accident.
