Stone-faced Karmelo Anthony hit with brutal question after being freed from jail

The case of Karmelo Anthony, a 17-year-old charged with fatally stabbing Austin Metcalf during a Frisco, Texas high school track meet, took a turn when his bond was reduced from $1 million to $250,000. Judge Angela Tucker approved the reduction with strict conditions, including house arrest, an ankle monitor, and no contact with the victim’s family.

Anthony’s defense argued self-defense, highlighting his clean record and community involvement. His father testified about their move to North Texas for a better life and the family’s financial strain since the arrest.

The April 2 incident unfolded during a weather delay when Metcalf confronted Anthony in another school’s tent. After being grabbed, Anthony allegedly stabbed him once in the chest. Austin died in his twin brother’s arms.

The bond decision has divided the community. Some support Anthony, while others mourn Austin’s death and question school oversight. The case will go before a grand jury for possible indictment.
