Snoop Dogg Reacts to Family’s Help When His Card Was Declined at a Restaurant at the Olympics

What was meant to be a quick takeout stop in Livigno turned into an unexpected feel-good story during the Winter Games.

While covering events in Italy for NBCUniversal, Snoop Dogg stopped by a local restaurant, Cronox, to grab a casual meal. His order was simple: a cheeseburger, chicken wings, chicken nuggets, and fries. But when his team attempted to pay, the card machine repeatedly failed to process the transaction.

According to Sofia Valmadre, daughter of the restaurant’s owners, the payment simply wouldn’t go through. Rather than making a scene or insisting on payment, her mother told Snoop not to worry about it and allowed him to take the food. For a small family-run business during a major international event, it was a gesture rooted in trust.

The story didn’t end there.

The next day, Snoop returned the kindness in a big way. The family later confirmed that he sent them five tickets to the men’s snowboard halfpipe final at the Milano Cortina 2026 Winter Olympics. The surprise transformed an awkward payment hiccup into a memorable Olympic experience.

Snoop is in Italy not just as a celebrity guest but as Team USA’s first Honorary Coach, a volunteer role with the United States Olympic & Paralympic Committee. He has embraced the position as a motivator and supporter of athletes.

What could have been a forgettable transaction became a story of goodwill — a small act of generosity met with an even larger gesture of gratitude.
