On the Morning of My Wedding, I Found a Baby on My Doorstep with a Note

The veil was on, the aisle was waiting, and I was five hours from saying “I do” — then the doorbell rang. Expecting my maid of honor, I opened the door to find a baby in a car seat, asleep, with a note: “The baby is Nate’s now. Ask him yourself.”

My fiancé, Nate? I brought the baby inside, stunned. Her blue eyes mirrored his. When Tessa arrived, I told her everything. “I’m taking her to the wedding,” I said. I had to see Nate’s reaction.

At the altar, his face went pale. “She’s not mine,” he said. “She’s my sister’s. She left years ago… I didn’t think she’d do this.” His mother confirmed it.

The baby — innocent, unexpected — changed everything. But I said yes anyway. Because love isn’t perfect. It’s real.

At the reception, baby Rose stole every heart. “We’ll talk later,” I told Nate. “But for now? Let’s dance.”
