Rock legend Ace Frehley, the original guitarist for KISS, passed away peacefully at his home in Morristown, New Jersey, at the age of 74. His family confirmed the news, saying he died surrounded by loved ones after suffering complications from a fall that led to a brain bleed.

Just weeks before his death, Frehley had canceled the remainder of his 2025 tour, citing ongoing health issues. Fans grew concerned when a post on September 26 revealed he had been hospitalized after a fall in his studio. Though his team assured supporters he was recovering, his condition worsened, and he was placed on life support.

Frehley’s final Instagram post, shared on September 24, showed him smiling beside a young fan during his 10,000 Volts Tour. The image, later flooded with tributes, became a symbol of his enduring bond with fans. “Ace looks so happy,” one commenter wrote, unaware it would be one of his last photos.

Following the announcement of his passing, tributes poured in from around the world. Admirers called him “Spaceman forever,” thanking him for inspiring generations of rock musicians. Many shared memories of his signature guitar solos and his larger-than-life stage presence.

A touching statement from his family honored Frehley’s contributions as a Rock & Roll Hall of Fame inductee and one of the architects of KISS’s theatrical style. He is survived by his wife, Jeanette; daughter, Monique; and several siblings, nieces, and nephews.

Former bandmate Peter Criss shared a heartbreaking tribute, calling Frehley his “brother” and revealing that he was by his side in his final moments. “Broken,” Criss wrote simply.
