Kerstin Tristan, a 56-year-old grandmother from Germany, once disliked tattoos. For years, she couldn’t imagine herself with body art.
That changed in 2015. Driven by curiosity, she decided to try something new and got her very first tattoo.
What began as an experiment quickly grew into a passion. Since then, Kerstin has spent around €30,000 ($32,000) covering her body with tattoos.
Her transformation has been striking. From once being tattoo-free, she now proudly wears roses on her legs, leopard prints on her shoulders, and portraits on her arms.
Kerstin describes her inked body with joy. “When I look at myself in the mirror, I see a beautiful meadow full of flowers that one has to love,” she says.
For her, tattoos are more than decoration—they are a form of self-expression and a celebration of individuality.
She also challenges stereotypes, showing that age should never restrict personal choices or creativity.
With more than 190,000 Instagram followers and viral TikTok videos, Kerstin continues to inspire people worldwide to embrace who they are, at any stage of life.
