College Baseball Player’s ‘Leg Explodes’ In Horrifying Scenes During Game

A baseball player representing Seton Hall University suffered a serious freak injury after hitting a home run during the opening game of the Puerto Rico Challenge. The matchup against Boston College was overshadowed by the incident.

In the fifth inning, left fielder Justin Ford launched a two-run homer to give Seton Hall a 4–3 lead. The hit energized his team and briefly shifted momentum in their favor.

However, as Ford rounded the bases, the celebration quickly turned concerning. After passing first base, he jumped while looking back toward the dugout and appeared to land awkwardly on his left ankle.

Video of the moment shows Ford collapsing between first and second base, clearly in pain. His ankle seemed to give way upon landing, preventing him from continuing around the bases under his own power.

Seton Hall’s baseball account later confirmed the injury on social media, noting that Ford was hurt while rounding the bases. The program asked fans to send best wishes and support for a speedy recovery.

Medical staff rushed onto the field, and a stretcher was brought out to assist him. A pinch runner completed the trip around the bases, allowing the home run to count in full.

Before the home run, Ford had recorded a strikeout and a walk. His two-run shot ultimately marked the final runs scored by Seton Hall in the game.

Despite briefly taking the lead, Seton Hall was unable to hold off Boston College, which rallied to secure a 6–4 victory. The focus afterward, however, remained on Ford’s condition as teammates and fans awaited further updates on his recovery.
