State of Mexico – On Wednesday, November 20, a multiple vehicle collision occurred on the Mexico-Querétaro Highway at kilometer 59 in Huehuetoca. A trailer truck failed to stop in time and crashed into several vehicles, causing it to block all three north-south lanes and leading to a partial highway closure.

The trailer was heading toward Mexico City and lost control near the Jorobas intersection. It first hit a bank before colliding with five cars and a pickup truck. Authorities suspect that wet road conditions from the day’s rain may have contributed to the accident, though investigations are ongoing.

Paramedics responded quickly to the scene and treated several individuals with minor injuries. While no serious injuries were reported, some were advised to visit a hospital for further examination to prevent complications.

This accident caused significant traffic disruptions, with delays reported along the highway due to the blocked lanes.

In a related incident, a tanker trailer spilled fuel at kilometer 95.5 near Soyaniquilpan de Juárez on the same highway. This caused a full closure of all lanes in that area, leading to even more traffic delays.

Authorities continue to investigate both incidents and advise drivers to exercise caution, especially under adverse weather conditions.

Motorists are reminded to drive carefully on wet roads and maintain safe stopping distances to prevent similar accidents.
