Barack and Michelle Obama are now enjoying life as empty nesters, while their daughters, Malia and Sasha, have grown into accomplished young women. Many say Malia looks just like Barack, and Sasha resembles Michelle. Now in their 20s, the sisters have become best friends.
During the pandemic, both returned home from college. Barack shared how much he and Michelle loved having the family together again. Since then, Malia and Sasha’s bond has only grown—they now live together in Los Angeles. Their apartment is modest, filled with finds from IKEA and yard sales.
Malia, born in 1998, is now 26 and thriving in Hollywood. After graduating from Harvard, she became a writer and director. Her short film The Heart won the New Generation prize at the 2024 Festival de Deauville. She also co-wrote an episode of Amazon’s Swarm, earning praise for her talent and professionalism in the entertainment world.
