We’ve all made choices we regret—but few are as visibly permanent as those of Ethan ‘ModBoy’ Bramble, an Australian body-modification enthusiast with over 200 tattoos.
Ethan began altering his body at age 11, starting with ear stretching. Since then, he’s undergone extreme modifications, including a split tongue and the removal of his belly button. But it’s his face and body tattoos, which cost him around $60,000 AUD (about $39,000 USD), that draw the most attention.
While Ethan once embraced the look, he’s now voiced regret, especially about his facial tattoos. Speaking on LadBibleTV’s No Filter, he said, “Not just regret—I think there’s a difference between regret and wanting to be perceived differently.”
His biggest concern is how his appearance might impact his young daughter. “The face is a big thing… I probably wouldn’t want my daughter to have to deal with that until she was older,” he admitted. “I wish I hadn’t gone as hectic as I did on my face.”
To change that, Ethan has been undergoing painful laser removal treatments. “I’ve probably gone over the full thing six or seven times,” he shared. The decision stems largely from anxiety tied to his heavily tattooed face.
Despite it all, he remains hopeful. “I’m happy with how I look,” he said, “but I’m also happy knowing my face tattoos will fade over time. I’m clearing the canvas.”
Ethan’s journey highlights a hard truth: self-expression can evolve, and sometimes, growth means letting go of what once defined us.
