Chumlee from Pawn Stars Could Avoid Prison Under Plea Agreement

Chumlee Accepts Plea Deal, Likely Avoids Jail Time

In a legal turn following a March raid on his Las Vegas home, Pawn Stars personality Austin Lee Russell, better known as Chumlee, is set to accept a plea deal that could keep him out of prison. Court filings reveal Russell will plead guilty to one count of attempted possession of a controlled substance.

As part of the agreement, Russell will surrender all drugs and firearms seized during the search, complete three years of probation, and undergo mandatory counseling or treatment. The arrangement aims to resolve the case without jail time.

The March 9 raid uncovered 12 firearms, a gallon-sized bag of marijuana, a small amount of methamphetamine, and prescription medications such as Xanax. The search was initially tied to a sexual assault investigation, but no charges were filed in connection with that allegation.

Authorities have confirmed Russell is not facing sexual assault charges, as that investigation concluded without legal action. The current proceedings focus only on the drug and weapons-related findings from the raid.

A key element of the plea deal is the conditional dismissal of a felony weapons charge. If Russell meets all probation terms and stays out of trouble, the felony will be dropped, leaving only a misdemeanor conviction.

Failure to comply could carry serious consequences. If Russell violates the agreement, he could face between two and five years in state prison for weapon possession.

The plea deal reflects a structured resolution that balances accountability with rehabilitation. Probation terms and counseling aim to address underlying issues while avoiding incarceration.

Russell is scheduled to formally enter his plea on June 1 in Clark County District Court. If approved, the conditions will begin immediately, and his path toward clearing the felony charge will be set in motion.
