Sources close to the White House say First Lady Jill Biden played a pivotal role in keeping President Joe Biden in the 2024 race before he dropped out in June.
Her ex-husband, Bill Stevenson, claimed Jill had changed and was driven by ambition, even suggesting she wanted to be president herself.
Stevenson also raised concerns about Joe Biden’s mental acuity, saying the president had shown signs of cognitive decline long before the campaign.
Despite public scrutiny, Jill remained a strong supporter of her husband throughout his campaign struggles.
After Biden stepped down, he endorsed Kamala Harris, aiding a smooth Democratic transition, while President-elect Donald Trump prepared to take office.
