Woman’s heartache after tragic car crash kills husband and children

Tragic Crash Claims Father and Two Young Children in Texas

Tommy Moorehead III, 41, and his two children—Tommy Jr., 4, and Lynnlee, 6—tragically lost their lives in a devastating car crash on Saturday in Texas.

According to the Texas Department of Public Safety (DPS), the crash occurred on FM-3133 when a 2007 Dodge 3500 attempted to pass a 2017 Toyota Tacoma in a no-passing zone. The Dodge collided head-on with a 2003 Chevrolet Silverado carrying Tommy and his kids, causing the vehicle to catch fire. All three were pronounced dead at the scene.

The Dodge’s driver, 63-year-old Rocky Patterson, has been arrested and faces three counts of manslaughter. He remains in Grayson County Jail with a bond set at approximately $3 million.

Tommy’s wife, Brooke Mustard Moorehead, lost her entire family in an instant. A GoFundMe has been launched to help cover funeral expenses and other unforeseen costs. As of this writing, the campaign has raised over $92,000 toward its $150,000 goal.

The fundraiser describes Tommy as a devoted husband and father. Tommy Jr. was described as cheerful and always smiling, while Lynnlee was known for her curiosity and vibrant spirit. Brooke, a longtime employee at a local restaurant, is remembered as kind, hardworking, and resilient.

The heartbreaking accident has shaken the local community, which is now rallying around Brooke to offer comfort and support as she navigates this unimaginable loss.
