Michael Madsen speaks out following death of son Hudson

“Reservoir Dogs” and “Kill Bill” star Michael Madsen addressed the tragic loss of his son, Hudson, who died from a gunshot wound to the head in January 2022. He was 26.

The City and County of Honolulu Medical Examiner reported it as a suspected suicide.

In a statement to Metro, the family expressed being “heartbroken and overwhelmed with grief,” requesting privacy.

Later, Madsen told The Los Angeles Times he was in shock, recalling his last text from Hudson: “I love you dad.”

“I didn’t see any signs of depression,” Madsen said. “He was looking forward to the future. It’s mind-blowing.”

He believes Hudson struggled after joining the Army, especially after being mocked for seeking therapy.

Hudson served in Afghanistan from August 2018 to January 2019 and was stationed at Fort Carson, Colorado.

He lived in Hawaii with his wife, Carlie, and Madsen said their marriage “was going strong.”

Rest in peace, Hudson.
