It’s been nearly 19 years since the world lost beloved conservationist Steve Irwin, who died in 2006 after being pierced by a stingray during filming at the Great Barrier Reef.
Steve’s passion for animals inspired millions and lives on through his children, Bindi and Robert. His wife, Terri Irwin, who married Steve in 1991, has dedicated herself to preserving his legacy.
Justin Lyon, a close friend and cameraman, recalled Steve’s final moments: despite severe injury, Steve remained calm and said, “I’m dying.”
In a 2025 interview, Terri shared she is still single but fulfilled. “I’m lonely for Steve, but I’m not lonely,” she said, emphasizing that women can be amazing and fulfilled regardless of relationship status.
Rumors about her dating actor Russell Crowe were denied; Terri described him as a loyal family friend who stood by them after Steve’s passing.
Steve’s memory continues to inspire conservation efforts worldwide.
