A woman turned to Reddit after calling Child Services when a neighbor suddenly left six young children at her door, claiming she’d return by Sunday. Known for manipulating others into babysitting, the mother didn’t wait for consent before hopping into a cab and disappearing, leaving the woman stunned with six kids ranging from 6 months to 7 years old.

The woman texted and called the mother, warning that if she didn’t return soon, she’d alert authorities. The mother refused and even suggested passing the kids to a frail 68-year-old neighbor. When she didn’t come back, the woman contacted Child Services. Police accompanied the social workers for safety, and the mother reportedly threatened her from halfway to Blackpool.

Though confident in her choice, the woman’s husband, a former foster child, was furious—accusing her of tearing the family apart and exposing the kids to potential trauma. Now, she’s second-guessing everything and wondering if she should undo the call.
