Were walking on the beach when they found something that others thought ..

Gary and Angela Williams were walking along Middleton Sands Beach in the UK when they discovered what looked like an ordinary stone. Angela described it as resembling a dinosaur egg, and their curiosity led them to take a closer look.

Their instincts were right—the object turned out to be grey amber, or ambergris, a rare substance produced in the intestines of sperm whales. When whales ingest sharp objects like squid beaks, they produce this waxy substance to protect their digestive tract. Over time, ambergris hardens and is eventually expelled into the ocean.

This “stone” can be incredibly valuable, often used in high-end perfumes. Their beach walk turned into a surprising stroke of luck—proving that sometimes, treasures really do wash up on shore.
