Princess Beatrice and her husband Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi have welcomed their second child, a baby girl named Athena. Born a few weeks early on January 22 at Chelsea and Westminster Hospital in London, Athena weighed 4lb 5oz. Both mother and baby are now home and doing well.
Buckingham Palace shared the joyful news, noting that King Charles, Queen Camilla, and the rest of the royal family are delighted. Athena joins the couple’s three-year-old daughter Sienna and eight-year-old Wolfie, Mr. Mapelli Mozzi’s son from a previous relationship.
The birth came as a surprise to the public, as Beatrice was initially due in early spring. Due to medical advice, she canceled overseas Christmas plans and stayed in the UK.
Mr. Mapelli Mozzi shared a sweet photo of Athena wrapped in a pink blanket, calling her “tiny and absolutely perfect.” Princess Eugenie also celebrated her niece’s arrival, posting a heartfelt welcome online.
