Karmelo Anthony, the 17-year-old accused of fatally stabbing athlete Austin Metcalf at a Frisco, Texas track meet on April 2, has changed legal counsel ahead of his next court appearance.
The incident reportedly began when Metcalf asked Anthony to move from a tent designated for Frisco Memorial students. Witnesses say the confrontation escalated quickly, ending with Anthony allegedly stabbing Metcalf in the chest.
Metcalf, a promising football player, tragically died in his twin brother’s arms. Anthony was arrested at the scene and charged with first-degree murder. He remains in custody as the legal process unfolds.
