Major security arrest tightens net around presidential protection

A 50-year-old woman from Indiana, Nathalie Rose Jones, has been arrested after joining a demonstration near the White House. She faces two felony charges over a series of violent threats she allegedly posted on Instagram and Facebook targeting U.S. President Donald Trump.

According to federal officials, the U.S. Secret Service monitored Jones’ account, “nath.jones,” between August 2 and August 9. Investigators reportedly found multiple threatening messages directed at Trump during that period.

In her posts, Jones branded the President a “terrorist,” described his administration as a “dictatorship,” and blamed him for the “extreme and unnecessary loss of life” during the COVID-19 pandemic. Officials say her rhetoric escalated quickly, raising concerns for public safety.

U.S. Attorney Jeanine Pirro announced the arrest, vowing that Jones would be “prosecuted to the full extent of the law.” Pirro emphasized that threatening the life of a President is a “serious crime” that demands “swift and unwavering prosecution.”

One post dated August 6 reportedly read: “I am willing to sacrificially kill this POTUS by disemboweling him and cutting out his trachea.” Another on August 11 said directly: “Listen up, Donald J. Trump. I’m psychotic.”

On August 14, Jones allegedly messaged Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth, urging him to “arrange the arrest and removal” of Trump at the White House. The following day, Secret Service agents interviewed her, during which she called Trump a “Nazi” and admitted she would kill him with “a bladed object” if given the chance.

Authorities say Jones appeared at a protest near the White House on August 16, heightening concerns given her prior threats. She was arrested shortly afterward.

Jones is charged with transmitting threats across state lines and threatening the President. Both are federal crimes that could carry significant prison time if she is convicted.
