4 things many people do in the morning that put themselves closer to a stroke

Stroke is a serious condition that can affect both the elderly and young people. According to Dr. Nguyen Xuan Quang from the Military Medical Academy, certain morning habits can increase the risk of stroke. Here are some to avoid:

  1. Jumping up immediately – Sudden movement can spike blood pressure, increasing the risk of a hemorrhagic stroke. Dr. Quang advises lying down for 1-2 minutes after waking, massaging your face and neck gently.
  2. Drinking saltwater – While believed to have antiseptic benefits, drinking saltwater can raise blood pressure and lead to long-term health issues, including stroke.
  3. Exercising too early – Exercising in cold weather can cause vasoconstriction, leading to cardiovascular problems and even stroke, especially for those with poor health.
  4. Drinking too much water – Drinking excessive amounts of water immediately after waking can strain the heart, especially for those with existing heart issues. Drink only about 200-300ml.

Being mindful of these habits can help reduce stroke risk.
